Finding herself a new horse owner, she started SaddleUp Cobb in 1999 with the purpose of meeting and mobilizing other local horse lovers.  The club's main purpose is to foster a horse friendly environment in regard to county zoning issues and to support the horse trails at nearby Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park.

In 2003, Leah became a founding member and director of the Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club and began a partnership with non equestrian trail users.  The partnership with hikers , runners and equestrians has the common goal of improving and maintaining the multi user trails and the historic structures at Battlefield Park.

Leah is also involved in educating equestrians about staying on designated trails to protect the historic structures at the park and to minimize impact.  Leah is a Certified Crew Leader, having completed the Georgia Trails Education Specialist course at Gainesville College.  She is also certified to operate the Ditch Witch Mini Skid Steer that is used at the Park to build trails.
