Fire Road Touch Up Project 12/19/09

Success!! Thanks in equal parts to all of us who didn't mind wading into 8" deep mud as well as Jerry & Richard's ditch witch skills, I'm happy to report our efforts worked & the access problem on "that muddy mess they call a fire road" has been largely resolved. (see pics)

The screenings we spread out & drainage we created have made that section of road very usable by vehicles -- which is pretty amazing if you recall the thick layer of screenings we applied had the consistency of runny Cream of Wheat cereal when we left. In just 2 weeks, it's set up into a hard, dense base. Of course, we'll be doing more work on this section of road & applying gravel in the next 2 months -- but step #1 was a smashing success (and definitely the messiest part of the project).
